I have always discouraged my children from reading. I think books on tape are better and educational shows on television.

who is this becky potter? I just don't like my children reading something I can't control. if they are listening to books on tape I HEAR the content. if they are watching something on tv I can monitor it. what is wrong with that?

books on tape are an easier solution. or video versions of children's stories. reading has become out dated anyway in the modern age. who needs books? books destroy forests!

JDF - Where did you find that list of books? I want to order "Grampa Gets a Casket" for Lilli! I think she would like that one. Maybe then, the first thing I hear every time I talk to her on the phone, won't be "where's grandpa?". What do you think?????
